TEDxSwansea

On Wednesday this week we popped into the TEDxSwansea event at the Taliesin Arts Centre on the Swansea University Singleton campus, to see our School of Management colleague (and ION alumni!) Georgios Dimitropoulos give a fantastic talk on uniting AI, innovation and immunotherapy to redefine cancer care. Great talk Georgios. 

We also managed to catch talks from Shazia Hussain who discussed how neurodiverse minds are changing the world, and Daniel Biddle, the most seriously injured survivor of the 7/7 terrorist attacks in London in 2005, discuss turning trauma into triumph. A hugely inspiring couple of hours spent, we just wish we could of stayed longer. 

New Masters programme launched by School of Management 

Our friends in the Swansea University School of Management (our new home!), have this week announced their latest Masters programme, Advanced Management (Complex Systems), MSc / PGDip.

This innovative programme will equip students with the skills to master the intricacies of managing complexity across sectors like ICT, Engineering, Aquaculture, Defence, Cyber Security, and Health and Care.

• Explore a blend of theoretical concepts and real-world applications from various industries.
• Dive into theories and models from complex systems, socio-technical systems, and complexity theory.

Coaching in talent management programmes 

On Thursday this week Adam attended an ILM webinar discussing coaching in talent management programmes. 

It was really interesting to hear the speakers discuss the factors that support successful talent coaching interventions, talent coaching as a catalyst for leadership change, the talent coaching matrix, and the ethical challenges involved in talent coaching.

Coaching has always played a key role in how ION deliver our programmes, with delegates on our Level 5 leadership programme receiving upto 3 coaching sessions with our in-house executive coach. As the programme moves forward, coaching will continue to be a part of our offering to support businesses and their leaders. Keep an eye on our website for future updates.
