Friday Footnote # 155

Ysgrifennwyd gan A.R.Fairbank@swansea.ac.uk / 1/12/2023

Each week we share loads of content amongst Team ION and with our network. Content that inspires us, which we find helpful, or just makes us smile. We thought we would start sharing these insights every Friday. Welcome to Friday Footnote.

A bright (and sunny) future for IONOffice_view.jpeg

As 2023 comes to an end, we also start to look ahead to an exciting 2024 and beyond for ION leadership. For the last 14 years ION have been supported by WEFO, and during that time we have supported over 1900 leaders in over 1000 businesses from across Wales. Our teams in both Swansea and Bangor have made a real difference to the Welsh economy, developing leaders that grow sustainable businesses and enrich the lives of their employees.

Over the last few months we have been progressing through a real period of change as we officially close the current chapter of ION leadership, and also plan for the future of the programme. As discussed previously, we are hugely excited to become part of the Swansea University School of Management, and over the last few weeks have been amazed at the number of opportunities that have come our way. We can't wait to start sharing everything we have been working on (now and in the future) with you, but we can't do so quite yet.

We look forward to continuing to develop extraordianry leaders, and support the Welsh (and beyond) business community. In the meantime, keep following us on our social channels and we will share exciting news as and when we can.

Inspiration

4theregion Meet & Mingle8.jpeg

We had a great night last night (Thursday) at the 4theregion 'Meet & Mingle event at the new Penderyn Distillery in Swansea. It was hugely interesting to have a tour of the distilery and learn about the whisky making process. Our tour guide was amazing and was so knowledgable about the subject - a real whisky aficionado!

After the tour, it was fantastic to catch up with some fantastic people in the bar area for networking, and to find out more about the success of 4theregion to date, and look forward to 2024. There is so much amazing work being done within South West Wales, and we are hugely proud to play a small part in the movement.
