Friday Footnote # 133

Ysgrifennwyd gan A.R.Fairbank@swansea.ac.uk / 2/6/2023

Each week we share loads of content amongst Team ION and with our network. Content that inspires us, which we find helpful, or just makes us smile. We thought we would start sharing these insights every Friday. Welcome to Friday Footnote.

Looking Back, Looking Forward Great_Hall_(2).jpg

In nearly 14 years, we have supported over 1700 individuals to become extraordinary leaders. On Tuesday 27th June our Swansea team are hosting the Looking Back, Looking Forward event at the Swansea University Great Hall on the Bay Campus.

The invitations to all of our alumni - LEAD Wales and ION leadership - as well as our friends and industry partners, have all gone out. We've had a few reports of invitations getting lost in Junk Email folders etc, so we have got in touch with everyone again over the last week or so. If you haven't received an invitation yet, and are interested in attending, please contact Adam or Sibil on ionleadership@swansea.ac.uk.

We will be announcing our exciting agenda next week, including speakers, Q&A sessions, and more about how Swansea University can support businesses across Wales.

There will be many opportunities throughout the day to network with our alumni, former team members and industry and university partners. So if you are a LEAD Wales / ION leadership alumini - why not get your back together? Event_header.PNG

Keep an eye on our social media channels, and your email inbox, next week for news on speakers, and the event agenda.

Change is the only constant

Next week sees us return to the Swansea University School of Management for our next leadership masterclass with our latest set of team leaders from Tokio Marine HCC. Next weeks session, led by Jane Baker from our delivery team, will focus on Planning & Implementing Change, and delegates will cover:

  • The reasons for change within an organisation
  • Elements needed for successful change
  • Understanding and identifying change in their organisation using a SWOT and Pestle analysis
  • Identify how to determine the forces for and against change for decision making

If you are interested in finding out more about how we can work with you and your business to develop the people within your team or organisation, get in touch with Adam Fairbank on ionleadership@swansea.ac.uk

North Wales means Business ConferenceBangor_event_2.PNG

Yesterday saw our Bangor colleagues host the North Wales means Business Conference at Venue Cymru in Llandudno. The conference, and trade show, had a jam packed agenda with keynote speeches from Bangor University and Siemens Healthineers, and a Q&A panel, as well as breakout sessions including 'The secrets of becoming a high performer', 'Harnessing employee engagement', and a LEGO Serious Play workshop.

Well done to Mannon, Elain, Nicola, Fliss, Katy, Jacky and Lorraine for organising a great event. By the look of all the content shared on social media, it looks like everyone enjoyed.
