Friday Footnote # 126

Ysgrifennwyd gan A.R.Fairbank@swansea.ac.uk / 21/4/2023

Each week we share loads of content amongst Team ION and with our network. Content that inspires us, which we find helpful, or just makes us smile. We thought we would start sharing these insights every Friday. Welcome to Friday Footnote.

Developing the next group of leaders at Tokio Marine

Last year we ran a hugely succesful leadership programme with 8 team leaders (pictured below) from Tokio Marine HCC. Working alongside the management team at Tokio Marine (to ensure we met their objectives and aligned with their values), we tailored our ILM Level 3 New Leaders programme to a 4-month programme for this group of new team leaders.

2.jpgThe programme was a huge success (keep an eye out on our social channels soon for a case study video). In fact it was so successful that we are starting another leadership programme next week, this time with 9 aspiring leaders from the same business. Starting with a 2-day overnight experiential at The Vale Resort, delegates will then take part in a number of leadership masterclasses at the Swansea University School of Management

Keep an eye out on our website and social channels next week for updates from the first session, and best of luck to our new delegates. We cannot wait to work with you.

If you are interested in finding out more about how we can work with you and your business to develop the people within your team or organisation, get in touch with Adam Fairbank on ionleadership@swansea.ac.uk.

Recruit, Retain, RetrainGower_College1.jpg

On Wednesday morning Adam and Sibil attended the Gower College 'Recruit, Retain, Retrain' event.

3 hugely insightful panel sessions discussed solutions to the increasingly common issues of staff recruitment and retention. The panels included representatives from industry as well as education, and during an interactive day it was fantastic to hear the panel, as well as those in the audience, share practical 'nuggets' of how they are managing the recruitment / retention problem. Thank you to everyone at GCS Training for organising a great event.
