Friday Footnote # 124

Ysgrifennwyd gan A.R.Fairbank@swansea.ac.uk / 24/3/2023

Each week we share loads of content amongst Team ION and with our network. Content that inspires us, which we find helpful, or just makes us smile. We thought we would start sharing these insights every Friday. Welcome to Friday Footnote.

See you at the Swansea City Conference 2023 4theregion_Conf.PNG

As an ambassador of 4theregion, and proud supporter of everything they are striving to achieve, we are delighted to again be attending this years Swansea City Centre Conference & Exhibition, which takes place next Wednesday (29th March) at the Swansea Arena. This time however, things are a little different. Swansea University are the proud headline sponsors of this years event, so we will be joining colleagues and friends from the University in our own area.

Vice-Chancellor of Swansea University, Professor Paul Boyle, explains why Swansea University are delighted to be involved:

“We offer an array of expertise and support; from our cyber security activity, local heritage work and our Oriel Science outreach programme, to leadership courses for businesses and our partnerships within the City Region Deal. This annual event is a fantastic opportunity to forge relationships across sectors and we look forward to engaging with our local community and exploring how – together – we can support the future prosperity of our city, our region and its people.”

To find out more about Swansea Universities sponsorship of the event, visit the Swansea University website, and to find out more about the event itself, including registerting to attend, visit the 4theregion website.

Members of the ION team will be there throughout the day on stand 86, so why not come along and say hello. See you there.

International Leadership Week 2023

This week was International Leadership Week - a week about 'about uniting a global community of people who are passionate abour raiisng the standards of leadership practice for themselves and others. It is THE week of the year to fly the flag for great leadership, and ANYONE can get involved'.

HSS_event_2.jpgWe joined the conversation during the week, using the hashtag #ilw23, sharing content aroud the impact of our leadership programmes on both delegates and their businesses,  as well as blogs discussing Action Learning Sets (ALS) and Learning Organisations.

Swansea University Humanities & Social Sciences Employability Awards

On Thursday night, Suzanne and Adam were invited to the Swansea University Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences Employability Awards at the Swansea Arena. The event was a celebration of what the year in industry and internship students had achieved over the last 12 months. It was really interesting to speak to so many of the students and hear their success stories. Well done to everyone who won an award, and everyone who organised a great event.
