Friday Footnote #12

Written by A.R.Fairbank@swansea.ac.uk / Friday 10th July 2020

Each week we share loads of content amongst Team ION and with our network. Content which inspires us, which we either find really helpful or we think would help our networks, or things that just make us smile. We thought we would start sharing these insights every Friday. Welcome to Friday footnote!

Fully-funded leadership programmes

Easy_as_123.pngThis week's #FridayFootnote will be a little different. Hopefully, you saw the amazing news this week that we are now able to offer our leadership programmes fully-funded until the end of August 2021. We are obviously delighted and want to thank the European Social Fund, via the Welsh Government, for their continued support.

The level of interest has been amazing. One programme is already fully booked, our website received more visits on Monday than the whole of last week and every time our recruitment team went on a Zoom call another delegate signed up.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has signed up, contacted the team or helped us share this fantastic news - your support is hugely appreciated.

If you want to find out more, check out our announcement last Monday (was it really 5 days ago???) to find out more, and find out whether you are eligible. You can also watch Swansea and Bangor Programme Managers Suzanne Parry Jones and Gwenllian Owen discuss their delight at this weeks news.

Inspiration

Here are just a few things that have piqued our interest this week:

As well as launching our fully-funded programmes, we have also run 3 virtual sessions this week. Tuesday saw us run our 'How do we learn session' where different learning styles and how an understanding of them can help your own, and your teams, CPD was discussed.

Wednesday saw part-2 of our 'Coach Don't Tell: Are you making the most of your team' session where delegates practiced the techniques they learnt during the first session and shared progress with their fellow delegates.

This week's ION Open Doors virtual networking session was also a cracker, with some fantastic discussions as usual. Our fully-funded programmes was obviously a key topic of conversation and it was great to see so many interested people in attendance. We hope we successfully answered all of their questions. Fancy joining us next week?

Next week sees us run another ION #ZoomBookRoom and the following week, following hugely positive feedback on the first session, we will be re-running our Adapt or standstill? session, discussing adaptive leadership.
