Fully-funded leadership programmes to support Welsh businesses

We are delighted to announce that thanks to support from the European Social Fund through Welsh Government we are now able to offer our leadership programmes fully-funded until the end of August 2021.

After having to postpone a number of programmes earlier this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, leadership programmes will re-start in September 2020. We will also be running an enhanced innovation programme starting in November.

Programme Director Gary Walpole welcomes the news.

“2020 has been a challenging year for businesses in Wales, and we are delighted to be able to support leaders by offering our programmes fully-funded. Our programmes are traditionally delivered face-to-face, but we have adapted delivery to provide a blended learning approach. Programmes will start virtually with the aim of having more face-to-face sessions towards the end of each cohort.

We are hugely looking forward to working with business owners across Wales to help them revive their businesses and go on to thrive in what has been a very turbulent year.”

ION leadership is backed by £3.6 million from the European Social Fund to raise skills and drive productivity and turnover in businesses in West Wales, the Valleys and areas of North Wales. We have supported over 1400 leaders in over 1000 businesses to develop sustainable and profitable enterprises, over the last decade.

Easy_as_123.pngHow can you get involved?

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3:

  1. Are you eligible? The fully-funded programme is available to businesses and individuals across Wales who meet certain eligibility criteria. You can find out more in our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
  2. Find a course near you, ensuring you are able to attend the programme's dates. Visit our courses page to find out more about upcoming programmes.
  3. Sign up.

Spaces on the fully-funded programmes are limited so please get in touch as soon as possible. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ION team are currently working from home, so if you would like to speak to a member of the ION team, please contact any team member you may already know, or contact us on ionleadership@swansea.ac.uk or ionleadership@bangor.ac.uk and our recruitment team will be in touch.

Alternatively, you can join us this Thursday for our weekly virtual networking session where members of the ION team will be available to answer any questions. We also have a virtual learning session, How do we learn? taking place this Tuesday which will enable you to find out more about the ION leadership programme and speak with our delivery team.
