Friday Footnote # 138

Written by A.R.Fairbank@swansea.ac.uk / Friday 14th July 2023

Each week we share loads of content amongst Team ION and with our network. Content that inspires us, which we find helpful, or just makes us smile. We thought we would start sharing these insights every Friday. Welcome to Friday Footnote.

Talking 'Resources for Growth & Reflection' with Tokio Marine

Image_(20).jpegOn Thursday we ran our final leadership masterclass with team leaders from Tokio Marine HCC, this time talking 'Resources for Growth & Reflection'. Led by Suzanne and Sibil, the delegates covered:

  • effective delegation
  • managing and prioritizing time
  • making informed decisions
  • training pathways
  • Kolb's Learning Cycle

In a few weeks time we will hold their graduation ceremony at the Llanerch Vineyard. During the day, the delegates will be joined by members of the senior leadership team at Tokio Marine, who will listen to presentations from the delegates on the change projects they have been working on as part of the programme.

If you are interested in finding out more about how we can work with you and your business to develop the people within your team or organisation, get in touch with Adam Fairbank on ionleadership@swansea.ac.uk

Looking Back at our recent event

We are still loving reminiscing about our recent 'Looking Back, Looking Forward' event held in Swansea. After a few days of well-earned rest for our events team, first of all the photos came back, next up we penned a blog about the event (check it out), and next week we will be sharing a short film from the event. Thanks again for everyone who joined us on the day, and has posted on social media or contacted us since the event.

Meeting the Big Research Challenges2.jpeg

Adam from our Swansea team had a really interesting day at the Swansea University Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences 'Meeting the Big Research Challenges' event at the beautiful Brangwyn Hall.

It was great to hear about all the great research projects, particularly finding out more about the next steps for Agor, and it was also a fantastic opportunity to catch up with colleagues from across the University. Thank you to everyone involved in organising the day.
