PAN Wales leadership programme announced

Written by A.R.Fairbank@swansea.ac.uk / Tuesday 1st March 2022 / ION leadership news

We are delighted to announce that for the first time we will be running a PAN Wales leadership programme, starting in June 2022.

Our programmes have traditionally been run separately by teams in Bangor and Swansea. However, for the first time in our 11-year history we are joining forces to unite businesses across Wales (dependent on convergence area criteria being met).

ION Programme Lead Suzanne Parry Jones can't wait for the programme to get started.

"I am delighted to announce this PAN Wales cohort. We have built fantastic relationships with so many individuals and businesses over the last 11 years. We want to build on those relationships – continuing to develop more effective leaders, and continuing to contribute towards growing sustainable, profitable businesses which contribute positively to the Welsh economy. I am delighted that our Swansea and Bangor teams are collaborating to bring our hugely impactful and successful leadership programme to more businesses across Wales.

We are huge advocates of the importance of peer-to-peer learning and sharing good practice. This programme will offer businesses from across Wales the opportunity to learn from each other and create a strong network - a network that embeds learning, innovation, trust and cohesion in its practice".

What will the programme cover?ION_leadership_programmes_graphic.png

The programme is our ILM Level 5 Leading Growth programme. Focusing on the essential skills required for leaders and managers in small, medium and large organisations, it places particular emphasis on developing leadership skills to facilitate business growth.

The programme will enhance delegates’ knowledge and skills around providing strong direction and motivating their team to achieve the vision and goals of the organisation. The programme develops their strategic thinking skills - “working ‘on’ the business, not ‘in’ the business”.

Delegates on the programme will:

  • Learn to understand a range of leadership styles, and the impact on organisational performance
  • Develop the ability to lead, motivate and inspire others to achieve results
  • Drive productivity and performance
  • Join a community of passionate and ambitious people
  • Develop a more strategic perspective
  • Improve personal growth

Modules on the programme include DISC Profiling & Emotional Intelligence, Leading Change, Leading Innovation and Culture & Values (amongst many others).

Delegates will also receive 3 Executive Coaching sessions. This programme is certified by the CPDSO for up to 70 hrs CPD (subject to attendance), and will provide delegates with an Institute of Leadership (ILM) Level 5 Award in Leadership & Management, upon completion of 2 assignments

In addition to the above, we are also in discussion with a number of industry partners, and Wales based international businesses, to see how they can share their knowledge, experience and insights with delegates on the programme. Keep an eye out on our website and social media platforms for further updates.

Why should you sign up?

This PAN Wales programme is our first ever Wales-wide leadership programme. In over 11 years we have supported over 1600 leaders across Wales to be extraordinary, and we have a proven formula for success.

During these unprecedented times, especially for those in business, problem-solving, business resilience and the ability to innovate are just some of the key skills required for businesses to not only survive but thrive. This programme will allow delegates to not only learn from each other, but also our hugely experienced leadership development specialists, and industry partners, forming a community of practice (COP).

Delegates will share best practice, from Wales and beyond, as well as learn about the importance of leading change and innovation, and learn how best to implement the latest thinking, strategies and best practice into their own business.

So, if you are looking to expand your business in Wales, and beyond, get in touch.
