Leadership Development Opportunity for Women in South Wales

Written by A.R.Fairbank@swansea.ac.uk / Tuesday 9th October 2018 / ION leadership news

Chwarae Teg and ION Leadership are running a series of “Women in Leadership” networking events in Cardiff, Bridgend and Swansea this November. The events will introduce guests to a new joint Leadership Programme based in Bridgend, and feature talks from a number of inspiring female business leaders from a range of Welsh industries.

Logo_for_web-page.jpgThe Women in Leadership programme is aimed at developing female leaders and focuses on developing the essential skills required for managers and leaders in organisations across Wales to facilitate business growth. Women who complete the programme will gain an ILM Level 5 qualification. The programme is up to 70% part-funded by the European Social Fund through Welsh Government’.

Hayley Dunne, Strategic Delivery Lead at Chwarae Teg, said:

“We know women are under-represented in leadership positions in Wales. Chwarae Teg is delighted to be partnering with ION Leadership on this Programme.  The opportunity for women leaders will not only upskill and develop successful leaders, it will also empower women in reaching their full potential.”

Guests at the launch events will have the opportunity to network and take part in an interactive session to get a taster of ION Leaderships’ experiential learning style.

ION Leadership Programme Manager Jo Bishop said “We are very excited to partner with Chwarae Teg once again. The last joint programme, ran in 2015, was hugely successful and saw nearly 30 women work together on real business challenges within their business, identifying real solutions that can be applied in the workplace.  Not only does the programme develop leaders that grow successful businesses but also develops a network of amazing business leaders meaning that the learning never stops”.

The ION Women in Leadership programme begins in January 2019, based in Bridgend. More information can be found here or by contacting Kim Talbot on k.e.talbot@swansea.ac.uk or 01792 606552.
