We’ve had an exciting few months launching the first ION leadership cohorts in North Wales.  In May, our Advanced programme began, with participants from Llandegla to Llangefni.  Some are old friends who had taken part previously in LEAD Wales, and some are new to us, but all are ‘one’ now.  The cohort has really gelled together and we have had an excellent overnight experiential event at the Oriel House Hotel in St Asaph, followed by a range of masterclasses.

“I have found the course so enlightening so far.  The way it has opened my eyes in such a short space of time is unbelievable” : Maria Jones, JMJ Travel Llanwrst

In October, this cohort will be coming together again with Professor Paul Hannon, Director of ION leadership, on the subject of strategies for growth.  This is taking place at the Imperial Hotel in Llandudno, which as well as being an excellent hotel, is managed by Geoff Lofthouse, one of our delegates.  Growth is at the heart of ION leadership – our focus is on inspiring and supporting leaders to grow their businesses, turnover, innovation, profitability and employment.DB1_Foundation_Day.JPG

Most recently, we held our Advanced masterclass on ‘Leading with High Performing Teams’ at the inspiring setting of Surf Snowdonia in the Conwy Valley, where as well as hearing from leadership expert Graham Dobbin of Perception, we had an inspiring and detailed presentation about the opening 18 months of this innovative and ambitious business from Surf Snowdonia’s Justin Everley, and how they overcame technical issues to have a hugely successful 2016.

Alongside this, our first Developing Leadership cohort came together for the first time in September at Bangor University.  This cohort has 25 business leaders from a variety of different backgrounds including entrepreneurs such as the founder of Chilly Cow Ice Cream, Anna Taylor, and care managers and HR professionals from major care provider Mental Health Care.   We are about to meet again at the Treaddur Bay Hotel for the overnight experiential where we have many exciting, and surprising, activities planned!
