Interview with Liz Williams - Managing Director - Pine and Oak Direct
1) Hi Liz, who are you and what do you do?
I’m the Managing Director of Pine and Oak Direct. Founded in 1985, it is now the largest independent furniture specialist in North Wales, with 10,000 square ft and 24 bedroom ranges to choose from, for example!
2) Why is this important to you?
It is really enjoyable helping customers to redesign their rooms and homes, and to advise and support in new ideas and design themes. We spend a lot of time keeping abreast of new design trends and incorporating them into our range.
3) What else can we expect from Pine and Oak Direct this year?
We are investing in new, green sources for our affordable Oak furniture. Also, excitingly, we are looking to develop a business opportunity for people to operate a Pine and Oak Direct franchise across the UK.
4) What’s the best piece of business advice you have received so far?
From LEAD Wales - “Working on the business rather than in the business” – gave me the permission to spend more time planning and thinking. Also some of the exercises in the overnight experiential including being guided – blindfolded – across a beach by another businessperson – made for a very trusting and supportive network with LEAD.
