Event Summary

ION Leadership and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) invite you to join them at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel in Narbeth for a free networking event to learn from successful business leaders on how they have grown their businesses in a period of change.

Speakers include:

Andrew Phillips, Managing Director, Carreg Construction Ltd

During a 30 year career, Andrew has amassed a wealth of experience in construction. Since 2003, he has developed Carreg Construction’s consistent growth into a 'niche' sector. Attention to detail and client satisfaction has become Carreg’s USP and Andrew now leads a team of 18 staff. He has successfully harnessed 'mind mapping' to help efficiently plan, organise and communicate the “TO DO” list, as well as scoping strategy and vision.

John Burns, CEO, Burns Pet Nutrition

Early in his career John, a respected veterinary surgeon and qualified acupuncturist, identified that poor quality diet was negatively affecting animal health. Using principles learned from Traditional Oriental Medicine, John began producing premium quality food for pets in 1993. Burns has since grown into a multi-award winning household name. Over the past 25 years, John has led and developed the business through a changing and challenging period, and now employs over 120 staff. John recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Swansea Bay Business Awards and “Burns” is listed in the Sunday Times Top 100 Private Companies.

Suzi Park, Co-Founder, Make It In Wales

Make It In Wales is a culmination of many years of working and teaching in the fashion and textile sector in the UK and the business offers high-end craft courses in West Wales. The company is only in its third year but is growing organically. Changing times in our education system and people becoming more aware of environmental, sustainability and traceability issues, means that people are looking for alternative ways to learn and spend their leisure time. The change in perception of 'having experiences' as opposed to 'having things' makes the job of marketing and delivery of courses challenging but rewarding when it works.

Registration for this must attend is now open and places are limited so don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity and book today.
