Event Summary

Join us at the Mercure Swansea Hotel to hear from Institute of Leadership & Management Head of Research, Policy & Standards Kate Cooper, discussing the importance of authentic leadership.

Acting with integrity and fairness in all decision making and being open and honest builds trust. Authentic leaders are consistent in their practice, putting professional interest before personal gain. The latest Institute of Leadership & Management research shows that authentic leaders can be identified by what they do not do as much as by what they do.

Kate will share findings of the Institute’s recent research revealing what we really think about the authenticity of the leaders and managers we work with, what makes us want to stay – or leave – our jobs and what new leaders and managers can do to keep the staff they need.

Guests will also explore experiential learning exercises by taking part in an ION leadership activtiy.

Kate will then be joined by ION leadership Programme Director Gary Walpole and business leaders for a Q&A session discussing the role of authentic leadership in engaging your workplace and its contribution to business growth.
