Developing Organisational Innovation programme visits Bridgend Ford
Delegates from our recent Developing Organisational Innovation course continued their learning by joining the Welsh Government funded Open Innovation Communities of Practice project, led by ION leadership Programme Director Gary Walpole. The group recently visited the Ford Bridgend Engine Plant Innovation Lab to find out about the innovations the Ford team had introduced following their involvement in an earlier Swansea University project (Developing Innovation Performance in firms and supply chain clusters).
The visit consolidated the importance of the knowledge sharing aspects of the project. The group has established its own community of practice (CoP) called Wales Open Innovation Community (WOIC) to ensure learning developed as part of the project is fully shared and exploited. Future workshops will address current real challenges they face in innovating and developing new products and services and to further develop the foundations of the CoP.
