A Commando Mindset
A lot has been written recently about how rather than New Years Resolutions, people should look to develop new mindsets. Yesterday we were delighted to be joined at #IONOpenDoors by Phil Jones from Swansea Outdoor Fitness who set his business up last year after 10 years in the Marines. Phill talked to the group about how his military mindset has benefited him in business, and in life. Discussing excellence, discipline, determination and cheerfulness in the face of adversity, it was a fascinating insight into how Phil's values, a number of which were formed thanks to his time in the military, have led him to be a successful businessman.
We particularly liked the Commando Mindset - Be the first to understand; the first to adapt and respond; and the first to overcome. Hugely relevant in these difficult times.
Phil, and the rest of the group, also enjoyed a fascinating discussion around habit forming, and how to develop habits that stick.
On the topic of habits, Llewellyn from the team also shared a podcast he had recently listened too with Dr ChatterJee and BJ Fogg discussing How to build healthy habits that last a lifetime. It's over an hour-long but definitely worth a listen.
