Catch 22 Brasserie has fast become one of Anglesey’s hottest eateries, renowned for its epic desserts (Snickers trifle anyone?).

Catch_22.jpgThe Valley-based, family-run restaurant has delivered high-quality food to locals and tourists for four years. Its contemporary style and welcoming atmosphere have seen it grow in popularity by the day - and with fast business growth comes new challenges, including a rapidly growing team.

When the pandemic hit and restaurants across the world were closed to business, Catch 22 were able to take a breath and focus on new developments. Owner Melissa Harley and Assistant Manager Jack Hawley turned their minds to their growing team and looked for a training opportunity that suited staff as well as for themselves.

“The ION leadership programme offered bite-sized courses and the added benefit of learning from other businesses in the network. This was an ambition of ours before we opened the restaurant. Lockdown presented the ideal opportunity” said Mel, who signed up for the Level 5 qualification with the Institute of Leadership & Management. “Places are currently fully-funded and they are also conveniently being delivered online”.

Jack who signed up to Level 3 explained how he was keen to find a course that built his confidence in team leadership and whilst being only halfway through the programme, has noticed “definite changes” in his leadership style. Jack recognises that “ION has done wonders for my confidence and speaking with peers at different levels has been so beneficial”.
