How our Bangor Learning Manager Felicity practices what she preaches

Bangor Learning Manager Felicity Davies also runs her own successful pottery studio. In a blog for the Bangor University newsletter, Felicity discusses how she balances her creative and business development background.

The pottery painting studio was originally set up to offer a weekend ‘rainy day’ activity in the area, but has since doubled its opening hours, increased its staff and has developed to offer themed workshops, build-a-bear activities and popular ‘Baby Painter’ classes. Not to mention the sell out ‘Paint & Prosecco’ nights!

“It’s wonderful to balance my creative side with my business development background and to practically lead my team and business, particularly through the last couple of years. I have had to adapt quickly - and continue to do so - as we navigate our way through the pandemic. That said, the support given to me by loyal customers has been overwhelming and 2021 has been our best year”.

“Reducing my hours on ION leadership to grow my own business was a risk, but I’m excited for 2022 as we are introducing clay workshops, building on relationships with organisations such as Mencap (and creating new ones), and developing mindfulness sessions so that others can benefit from the same creative experience that we are lucky enough to enjoy in our working day”.
