Friday Footnote # 83
Each week we share loads of content amongst Team ION and with our network. Content that inspires us, which we find helpful, or just makes us smile. We thought we would start sharing these insights every Friday. Welcome to Friday Footnote.
Nurturing employee engagement
We were delighted to confirm at the end of last week that our next ION Open Doors virtual learning event will take place on Thursday 3rd March. The newest member of the ION Swansea delivery team, Nathan Haymer, will lead a session discussing 'Nurturing Employee Engagement'.
Employees don’t leave companies; they leave their Manager. Everyone knows that an engaged employee creates results and leaders are the key to driving employee motivation.
In this session we will discuss the true meaning of employee engagement and what you can do as a leader to improve this. We will look closely at employee motivation and talk about what drives them the most.
This thought provoking session has been designed to explore employee engagement, further your experience of motivation and enable you to tailor your methods to best support your business.
You can sign up to attend this free virtual (via Zoom) session on our events pages.
Face-to-face events are back!
It's been brilliant to start going back to face-to-face events, rather than everyone appearing inside a small Zoom box on our screens. Kaye, our networking guru, has loved getting back out doing what she does best. She was joined by Adam recently as they attended the Swansea City Business Network 'The Social Network' event. It was brilliant to meet people in 'real life' who we have only seen on screen for the last 18 months. One of these was Jen Barnfield from The PEPP Method, and she was just excited to finally meet us, as she extolled on Linkedin: "Have to say having known Adam Fairbank for nearly 2 years, getting to meet him today, in person, confirms he’s just as fab on screen as he is off screen! #realperson".
Our events calendar is starting to fill up and we can't wait to start seeing people again. On Tuesday 8th March (International Womens Day) we will be joining the Swansea City Business Network again for their Women of Influence event. The following week, on Thursday 17th March we will be attending, and exhibiting, at the 4theregion Swansea City Centre Conference and on Thursday 7th April we will be attending, and exhibiting, at the Swansea & West Wales Introbiz Expo at Brangwyn Hall. We can't wait. Why not book to attend any of the events and come and say hello.
We are also planning our own face-to-face events, hopefully starting in late March. Keep your eyes peeled on our social platforms.

Just starting your leadership journey?
Our ILM Level 3 New Leaders programme is designed to develop and enhance the leadership and management skills of those in the early stages of developing their leadership skills. Delegates will be encouraged to understand their own approach to leadership, and then consider their team roles and tasks required to create a strong business framework for the growth and sustainability of their organisation. Our next programme starts in May 2022, and you can find out more about the programme, including those all important dates, here.
