Friday Footnote # 82

Written by A.R.Fairbank@swansea.ac.uk / Friday 11th February 2022

Each week we share loads of content amongst Team ION and with our network. Content that inspires us, which we find helpful, or just makes us smile. We thought we would start sharing these insights every Friday. Welcome to Friday Footnote.

'Developing your entrepreneurial mindset' virtual learning session

1.PNGWe were delighted to be joined yesterday at our latest ION Open Doors learning event by Kelly Jordan from the Swansea University Enterprise Team to discuss developing an entrepreneurial mindset.

Kelly took the group through the Entrepreneurship Competency Framework, with everyone in attendance scoring themselves against each element - including ability to spot opportunities, mobilising resources and learning through experience (something we are big fans of at ION!). With everyone from hypnotherapists and membrane filtration experts, to hugely successful business owners with 40+ years business experience on the session, this led to some fascinating discussions amongst the group, with everyone sharing their own insights and experience.

What a session! We absolutely loved it. Fantastic discussions with such a varied group of people - including one who was doing Ed Sheeran's dancers hair at the Brits 3 days ago!

Details of our next virtual learning session can be found below.

Our next virtual learning event: Nurturing employee engagement

Hot on the heals of yesterday's learning event, we are delighted to confirm that our next ION Open Doors virtual learning event will take place on Thursday 3rd March. The newest member of the ION Swansea delivery team, Nathan Haymer, will lead a session discussing 'Nurturing Employee Engagement'.

IOD_Nathan_event_2.pngEmployees don’t leave companies; they leave their Manager. Everyone knows that an engaged employee creates results and leaders are the key to driving employee motivation.

In this session we will discuss the true meaning of employee engagement and what you can do as a leader to improve this. We will look closely at employee motivation and talk about what drives them the most.

This thought provoking session has been designed to explore employee engagement, further your experience of motivation and enable you to tailor your methods to best support your business.

You can sign up to attend this free virtual (via Zoom) session on our events pages
