Friday Footnote # 72

Written by A.R.Fairbank@swansea.ac.uk / Friday 19th November 2021

Each week we share loads of content amongst Team ION and with our network. Content that inspires us, which we find helpful, or just makes us smile. We thought we would start sharing these insights every Friday. Welcome to Friday Footnote.

Fancy a financial health check? Danni_event.png

We are delighted to be joined at our next #IONOpenDoors learning session by, recent ION graduate, Danni Watts-Jones, Managing Director of DWJ Wealth Management.

Danni will be discussing, amongst other things:

  • Making the most of your money - grants, government support
  • Protecting you and your business
  • How will the Budget changes affect you and your business?
  • Is your business at risk, and how do you identify the risks?
  • COP26 and how you can be more ethical when running a business
  • Changes to trusts and the need to register your trust

This promises to be a hugely engaging session and is open to everyone. You can book to join us on our events page.

Congratulations to our latest graduatesIMG_3969_(2).JPG

ION graduations are like buses. No graduations for ages, and then 2 within a week. Following on from last week's fantastic Leading Growth graduation, it was great to be able to celebrate again this week, this time with delegates graduating from our latest New Leaders programme.

We love hearing the delegate's talk about how the programme has impacted them and their business. It's why we do what we do. This week we heard about increased confidence, the importance of sharing (and learning) how others handle situations, and how they all took things away from the sessions which they could implement into their business straight away.  We take pride in our programmes focussing on finding real solutions for the real issues that leaders, at all levels, face every day.

It is always fantastic to see Welsh businesses continue to support their people, and the delegates themselves spend time focussing on their personal growth. Welcome to the ION 'family' - it's now 1500+ strong!

Are you at the early stages of your leadership journey?

We this week announced details of our latest ILM Level 3 leadership programme, starting in May 2022. Our New Leaders programme is designed to develop and enhance the leadership and management skills of owners, entrepreneurs, leaders, managers and supervisors who are in the early stages of developing their leadership skills. The programme concentrates on transferring knowledge and skills that enable growth and sustainability for their organisations.

The programme is designed to ensure delegates are encouraged to understand their own approach to leadership, and then consider the team roles and tasks to create a strong business framework for the growth and sustainability of their organisation.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we currently aim to deliver this programme through a blended approach, with sessions split between face-to-face sessions, and virtual delivery via Zoom.

Interested? You can find out more on our website, or if you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch by emailing ionleadership@swansea.ac.uk.

We also still have spaces available on our last remaining fully funded ILM Level 5 Leading Growth programme. You can find out more about our latest programmes on our courses page.
