Friday Footnote #23

Written by A.R.Fairbank@swansea.ac.uk / Friday 2nd October 2020

Each week we share loads of content amongst Team ION and with our network. Content which inspires us, which we find helpful or that just makes us smile. We thought we would start sharing these insights every Friday. Welcome to Friday footnote!

#womenspire

This week saw our friends at Chwarae Teg recognise the achievements of some of Wales' most remarkable women at their Womenspire Awards. This year the event obviously took place virtually, and you can find out more about all of the winners here. A huge congratulations to all of the winners, with a special shout out to Sian Cartledge of Max Rocks who will soon be taking part in one of our leadership programmes.

Women_In_leadership.JPGWe are delighted to have partnered with Chwarae Teg twice in the past to run Women in Leadership programmes, aimed at developing female leaders, focusing on developing the essential skills required for managers and leaders in organisations across Wales to facilitate business growth. Our latest set of graduates are pictured right.

Always Learning

We are big fans of all things learning in Team ION. This week Adam took part in Institute of Leadership & Management webinars discussing 'Teams that Add Value' and 'Building Virtual Teams'. Kim has signed up for the Women in Business Expo which takes place on October 14-15.

We are also very proud to be part of Swansea University LINC, a collaborative network that enables private, public and third sector organisations to connect with each other and access resources & expertise to support growth. Their next event takes place next Thursday (8th October) and will be discussing the legal, wellbeing and economic implications of working from home. Swansea Programme Manager Suzanne will be there (virtually obviously!). You can find out more (including the agenda) and book to attend, here

Inspiration

Jo_5.JPG'There is no doubt that without the ION course, Empower simply wouldn’t exist'

This week we chatted with Empower Wellbeing founder Jo Juliff who graduated from our Leading Growth programme last year. In our chat, we covered (amongst other things), focusing on your strengths, how people buy from people and 'Juliff HQ'. You can read the full Q&A in our blog section.

If you want to hear more from our previous delegates discussing their ION experience, check out our testimonials page or YouTube channel.

And if you are interested in becoming an extraordinary leader, check out our upcoming programmes.
