ION Leadership and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) have joined forces to bring the Leadership Conversation to West Wales.

The insight event takes place at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel in Narberth on Thursday 17th May where attendees will hear from 3 West Wales business leaders, as well as IONs leadership specialists, on how businesses can grow in a period of change.

Speakers include John Burns, CEO of Burns Pet Nutrition, who over the past 25 years has grown his premium quality pet food company into a multi-award winning household name which now employs over 120 people.

During a 30 year career, Andrew Philips, Managing Director of Carreg Construction, has amassed a wealth of experience in construction and since 2003 has led Carreg Construction’s consistent growth into a ‘niche’ sector.

We are also happy to announce that Suzi Parks, Co-Founder of Make it In Wales, will be sharing her experiences with attendees. Make it in Wales is a culmination of many years of working and teaching in the fashion and textile sector in the UK and the business offers high-end craft courses based in West Wales.

Jo Bishop, Programme Manager for ION Leadership is looking forward to the event.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses in West Wales to hear from local successful business leaders and we are hugely looking forward to bringing the Leadership Conversation to Narberth. At ION we aim to create eureka moments and develop people as extraordinary leaders. A key element of our work is sharing good practice, and that is where events like this have a hugely positive impact. However, learning needs to be turned into action, and that’s what we aim to do at ION”.

Rob Basini, South Wales Development Manager for the Federation of Small Businesses, is looking forward to working with ION on bringing the event to West Wales.

“I have always heard nothing but exceptional feedback on ION Leadership and I look forward to bringing their experience, and the experience of the 3 business leaders, to our members in West Wales. The event promises to be a fantastic event which will hopefully create positive changes for businesses in the region”.

Led by Swansea University, ION Leadership project is backed by £3.6million from the European Social Fund to raise skills and drive forward productivity and turnover in small and medium sized (SMEs) as well as large companies.

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) offer their members a wide range of vital business services including advice, financial services and a powerful voice in government and their mission is to help smaller businesses achieve their ambitions.
