Friday Footnote #29

Ysgrifennwyd gan A.R.Fairbank@swansea.ac.uk / 20/11/2020

Each week we share loads of content amongst Team ION and with our network. Content which inspires us, which we find helpful or that just makes us smile. We thought we would start sharing these insights every Friday. Welcome to Friday footnote!

KaosPilot_1.jpgAlways Learning

We say it all the time, but we love learning in Team ION. And there's been a lot of learning happening this week.

All week it was been International Leadership Week and Adam, Suzanne and Tony joined various sessions throughout the week including 'How to develop and accelerate digital transformation in business', 'Bringing your whole self to work' and 'How to be everywhere at once and have more time'. In total there were 4 days worth of webinars from around the world. A massive thanks to the Institute of Leadership & Management for organising.

Thursday saw Adam join 500 other people worldwide on the KaosPilot 'Transformation Design' webinar discussing creating online learning experiences. A hugely insightful webinar as expected, Adam also used High Fidelity, an online audio space for future spaces, for the first time, enabling him to meet, network and chat with delegates from the Hague, Paris and Denmark. It was fantastic to see gamification used to create online communities. Definitely something we'll be investigating further.

On Tuesday, Kim attended the Chwarae Teg 'Insights from Female Entrepreneurs' webinar where delegates heard a number of female entrepreneurs share their stories, and just this morning Adam attended the 'It's About Time - Flexible & Agile: The Future of Business?' webinar ran by NatWest, FSB, Darwin Gray and The University of South Wales.

Meet our Alumni

This week we shared our latest alumni Q&A. We caught up with Alice Lampard who completed our Level 5 programme in 2014-15 when we were LEAD Wales.

You can catch up with other Q&A's in our blog section:

The Power of Positive Change

Our Bangor team have partnered with various other bodies in North Wales to run North Wales Means Business Conference - The Power of Positive Change, on Thursday, 10th December. Their first conference to be held virtually has a great line-up of inspirational speakers who will be joining them live from across the globe to provide a great deal of positivity and focus after what has been a challenging year for many. With a wide range of issues and topics discussed, the importance and power of positive change in business will be the theme of the day and will encourage business leaders not only to embrace change but how to use positive changes to move their business forward in 2021.

Speakers include Kate Hardcastle MBE, our very own Katy Roberts and, friend of the programme, Stephen Davies of Penderyn Distillery. You can find out more and book to attend here, or contact leadingbusinessgrowth@bangor.ac.uk
