Friday Footnote #28

Ysgrifennwyd gan A.R.Fairbank@swansea.ac.uk / 13/11/2020

Each week we share loads of content amongst Team ION and with our network. Content which inspires us, which we find helpful or that just makes us smile. We thought we would start sharing these insights every Friday. Welcome to Friday footnote!

Congratulations / Llongyfarchiadau

Congratulations.pngWe are always immensely proud of our alumni and their fantastic achievements. It was great this week however to see a number of them publicly recognised for just how amazing they are.

This week saw the FastGrowth50 announced, which identifies the fasting growing firms in Wales. We were delighted to see alumni A&R Cleaning in at 32 (and win the Award for Sustainability Growth) and Insite Technical Services at 34. We also have a number of delegates on upcoming programmes from Bodysocks who came in at 44. Well done to our alumni, and everyone else who made the list.

It was double success for Rayner Davies, founder of A&R Cleaning, who was this week also selected as one of the 2020 Women of the Year. Rayner explained on LinkedIn 'When I first had an email off Women Of The Year, I honestly thought it was a spam email........To be hand-selected as one of the 450 Women Of The Year and receive my Virtual Afternoon Tea box, for tomorrow's virtual award ceremony was a complete shock. Thank you for making me feel very proud and accomplished'. You should feel very proud Rayner. We are hugely proud of Rayner who is one of our alumni, along with Business partner and husband Ashley. We are also delighted to have welcomed several members of the A&R Cleaning onto our leadership programmes over the years. Congratulations all of you, you are a fantastic team.

Inspiration

So what's caught our interest this week:

International Leadership Week

Next week it's International Leadership Week. Our friends at the Insititute of Leadership & Management are running 40 free webinars over 4 days. International thought-leaders will share new perspectives on the leadership that is needed to solve the challenges today’s organisations face. It sounds like a fantastic week's worth of learning. Members of the ION team have signed up to some of the sessions. You should too. You can find out more and sign up to the webinars on the Institute's website.

You can also follow the latest leadership news on the #LeadershipWeek20 hashtag. See you there next week

Upcoming leadership programmes

We recently announced our next ILM Level 5 Leading Growth programme which will start in July 2021. Places are expected to book up fast so we'd encourage you to check it out ASAP. Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, our programmes are currently delivered virtually until we are able to deliver face-to-face.

Our leadership programmes are currently fully-funded until the end of August 2021. Check out our courses page to find out more about upcoming courses and get in touch with us if you have any questions.

Stay Safe
